Lets make some COOL CREATIVE projects related to Physics!
Project Idea #1: Create an operation board game!!!
Get creative and make your own operation board game.
Decide what you want to dissect!
(You don't have to use the typical man, I recommend that you think of something else)
Items you will need: voltage source (batteries), wires, LEDs, buzzer, metal tweezers
Items you will choose: how many LEDs, the colors of the LEDs
Connect the LEDs, buzzer, and batteries in series, create shaped wires to touch the surface of the board game and connect those in series too with the circuit. Hide the circuit inside of the container or shoe box.
Decide on the amount of voltage and check that this amount won’t burn out the bulbs. Then how to connect the wires: conductive tape, soldering, wire nuts, etc.
The metal tweezers will be connected to the negative end of the batteries and when coming in contact with the copper wires the circuit will be completed and the LEDs and buzzer will turn on!
Project Idea #2: Rollercoaster Webquest
http://www.createwebquest.com/webquest/disney-roller-coaster
Students will work in groups to create a rollercoaster proposal using this webquest. They will read articles and watch videos to help them understand the maximum allowed velocity in a rollercoaster. This creates a constraint for them to then create a safe rollercoaster using momentum, energy, kinematic equations, and knowledge on concepts of velocity, friction, and inertia that is also gained throughout the WebQuest. They will create a proposal to submit to Disney (which is really just me the teacher), and they will also have a scaled drawing and mathematical proof to back up their proposal.
